The Bruins announced two transactions around noon today: Peter Cehlarik and Trent Frederic have been assigned to the Providence Bruins.
Frederic was in the mix for the 3C role, but ultimately didn't do enough to secure the spot.
Cehlarik, however, had a very strong preseason, and looked like he deserved a look at the NHL level to start the year.
Instead, it'll be back to Providence, where Cehlarik will likely be the first man up in the event of an injury.
No word yet on the status of Lee Stempniak or Daniel Winnik, who, per Kevin Paul Dupont of the Globe, weren't on the ice this morning.
