Bruins goalie prospect Zane McIntyre decided to leave the University of North Dakota a year early and could soon sign with the B’s.
McIntyre has not yet begun negotiating with the Bruins, but his agent, Neil Sheehy, said he expects to begin talks today. If the team and the goalie cannot come to an agreement, McIntyre can make use of a collective bargaining agreement loophole and become a free agent, as Kevin Hayes did last summer, eschewing his draft team, the Blackhawks, and signing with the Rangers.
McIntyre could opt to become a free agent 30 days after withdrawing from school, which he has not done yet.
