On a day the Bruins welcomed Brandon Carlo back to practice, they received more bad news.
Kevan Miller will miss at least five weeks, the club said, with a throat injury.
The 31-year-old defenseman spent Monday night in a downtown Toronto hospital, after a puck rode up his stick and hit him under the chin late in the first period of Monday’s 4-2 loss to the Leafs at Scotiabank Arena. Initial X-rays were negative, and Miller remained in the hospital for observation, in case the injury swelled to the point it would impact his breathing.
