SUNRISE, Fla. — The Bruins arrived in south Florida for the NHL draft with a young player who might be ready to be a No. 1 defenseman in Dougie Hamilton and a Stanley Cup-winning winger in Milan Lucic. They left yesterday without those two key pieces, and got nothing in return to help in the immediate future.
But while the B’s couldn’t bundle their three No. 1 picks for a juicier pick or an NHLer on Friday, and then could not parlay their three second-round picks for anyone who could help them now, the B’s still maintain there’s time to do something.
