Bruins assign Anders Bjork to Providence

Bjork, 21, had been a healthy scratch for the last two games. The right wing rookie was sidelined for seven games after a hard hit to the head from Toronto’s Matt Martin Nov. 11, and struggled to find his game again since his Dec. 2 return to the lineup.

A fifth-round pick in 2014, Bjork recorded 12 points (four goals, eight assists) and a plus-two rating through 28 games. The highly-touted ex-Notre Dame standout signed an entry-level contract with the Bruins on May 30, 2017.

“This league has different levels as you go along, it’s tough enough for the young guys when they’re healthy…this is another level and he’s going to have to catch up,” Bruce Cassidy spoke about Bjork’s situation last month.
