Brett Connolly just wants a shot

NEW YORK — Uncertainty permeates the Bruins roster, but there may be no more intriguing question than this one:

Just who is Brett Connolly?

We know the right winger came to the Bruins with an impressive pedigree. He was drafted sixth overall in 2010 by the Tampa Bay Lightning, and he has achieved at a high level in the AHL, scoring 52 goals with 68 assists in 138 games for Syracuse.

But can he produce like that at the NHL level or will he need to find another niche?

“It certainly remains to be seen,” general manager Don Sweeney said last night before Connolly scored two goals in the Bruins’ 3-2 loss to the Rangers at Madison Square Garden.
