The Boston Bruins announced on Sunday that the team had claimed former second round draft pick Landon Ferraro off of waivers from the Detroit Red Wings. Drafted in the 2009 NHL Entry draft with the 32nd overall pick, Ferraro has essentially been a career AHL player up to this point, playing in only 17 regular season NHL games and seven playoff games. In his limited NHL exposure, Ferraro has posted one goal and nine penalty minutes in the regular season as well as two penalty minutes in the playoffs. Ferraro is known more for his two-way ability than anything else, but has been a very good goal scorer recently at the AHL level having scored 24 goals in the 2012-13 season and 27 in the 2014-15 season.
