Prior to the Bruins-Oilers game on Thursday night, the B’s organization saluted the late Milt Schmidt, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 98. The touching tribute included a standing ovation from fans at TD Garden – replacing of the traditional moment of silence – and a video montage of Schmidt’s greatest moments as a member of the Black and Gold.

In addition to the pregame tribute, Schmidt’s number 15 was painted behind the net on both ends of the ice, while his banner atop the Garden rafters was put at half-mast.
