For the first time in 19 months, both the Boston Bruins’ AHL and ECHL affiliates were in action on the same weekend, with the Providence Bruins and Maine Mariners playing five total games last weekend.
In AHL action, the Providence Bruins struggled losing all three of its games, including a pair of blowouts at home. Meanwhile, the Bruins’ new ECHL affiliate Maine Mariners kicked off its 2021-22 campaign by splitting the weekend home-and-home slate with the Worcester Railers.
Providence’s struggles continued to begin the 2021-22 slate as the P-Bruins have now lost four straight after a season-opening victory.
