The Boston Bruins are fighting hard to get into the playoffs, and they're looking to make a move at the trade deadline to give them a late season boost. Here are the players they're targeting to help them make another deep postseason run:
Jordan Eberle, RW, Edmonton Oilers
Eberle is the pure goal scorer Boston needs, and he would flourish playing next to David Krejci. He's great finishing around the net, and while he's not the physical player the Bruins like to have on the wing, Boston desperately needs his production. The Bruins have numerous centers and defensemen that Edmonton needs, making this a likely possibility.
Antoine Vermette, C, Arizona Coyotes
Vermette is arguably the best forward that is readily available, and Boston is looking to add another scorer. He’s in the last year of his contract, allowing the Bruins to remain some flexibility. He’s a physical forward at 6’1″, 200 pounds, but he prefers to play on the outside instead of in front of the net.
Wayne Simmonds, RW, Philadelphia Flyers
Flyers owner Ed Snider isn't happy that Simmonds, among others, having been contributing a lot of secondary scoring. Philadelphia is a team in cap trouble, and getting rid of Simmonds' four-year deal would help them go a long way in rectifying that. He has the toughness and willingness to around the net that the Bruins are looking for if the Flyers are willing to deal the 26-year-old.
