BYU coaches have kept quiet on who will start at quarterback Friday against Boise State, but it appears junior Tanner Mangum is ready to play.
Mangum, an Eagle High graduate, told ESPN’s Molly McGrath on Thursday night he expects to start, and on Sirius XM on Friday, McGrath said his backup likely will be true freshman Joe Critchlow, who has yet to appear in a game. Mangum has missed the last two games with an ankle injury.
An hour and a half before Friday’s game, Mangum was warming up and throwing to receivers alongside the other quarterbacks.
