Idaho State roars back from 18-point deficit for upset win at Boise State

Chidi Udengwu made two free throws with 0.6 seconds on the clock to give Idaho State a 72-70 upset of Boise State in the Broncos’ season opener Saturday night at Taco Bell Arena.

The Broncos led by as many as 18 points with 15:32 to play in the second half, but the Bengals sank eight 3-pointers over the final 15 minutes of the game to steal the win.

Chier Maker and Bonneville High graduate Jared Stutzman led the Bengals with 16 points apiece. Both players were 4-for-8 from 3-point range.

With the game tied at 70-70, Boise State had two chances to retake the lead.
