Boise State running back signee Alexander Mattison won a major award last night...and it didn't show up on his doorstep in a box marked "fra-gee-lay". Mattison, a multi-sport star at San Bernardino High took home the Ken Hubbs Award for Athlete of the Year at Monday's ceremony. Ken Hubbs graduated from nearby Colton High School and was the NL Rookie of the Year in 1962, but was killed in a plane crash in '64. Since his untimely death, his eponymous foundation has honored outstanding local athletes. 25 area athletes were honored at last night's ceremony, but Mattison was recognized with the top overall honors.
