Chandler Hutchison had a difficult afternoon, but the senior guard came through in the final minute to give the Boise State men’s basketball team a 58-56 victory over UTEP in the first round of the Puerto Rico Tip-off at Coastal Carolina on Thursday in Conway, S.C.
Hutchison shot an uncharacteristic 3 for 14 from the field and committed four fouls before coming alive in the final seconds. The 6-foot-7 NBA prospect scored five points in the last 14 seconds to help Boise State come back from as much as a nine-point deficit in the second half.
Sophomore point guard Marcus Dickinson led the Broncos with 13 points.
