The UNLV #6 Rebels beat the #11 Air Force Falcons 55-42 to set up a showdown with the #3 Boise State Broncos in the second round of the Mountain West tournament.
In the regular season the two teams split the series. Boise State taking the first game in Boise 75-56 in what would be the fifth win of an eight-game winning streak. All-Mountain West selection Brooke Pahukoa had 20 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, a block and a steal. Shay Shaw, another All-Mountain West selection, had 16 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 blocks.
