These Are The Top Ten 2018 Football Recruits Currently Committed To A Big Ten School

The regular season for college football has come to an end and what a great season it was, especially in the Big Ten where three teams finished ranked in the Top 10. The Big Ten conference was arguably the best Power 5 conference this season with multiple teams spending time in the AP Top 25, so looking forward to the top 10 recruits in the country who will join this powerhouse conference is exciting. The list is dominated by Ohio State and Penn State which is a major reason why these two teams have won the Big Ten conference the last two seasons.

PLAYER, POSITION, RATING, SCHOOL
1.) Taron Vincent, DT, 5 Stars - Ohio State 

The top recruit entering the Big Ten is Vincent, a big physical defensive tackle with a ton of power who will help the Buckeyes dominant in the trenches. He is the number one defensive tackle recruit and the 11th ranked player in the country.

2.) Justin Shorter, WR, 5 Stars - Penn State
A big tall receiver standing at 6-4 and weighing 213 pounds, he still needs to improve as a route runner but his leaping ability and overall ball skills will make him a great threat in the red zone. Shorter is the number one wide receiver recruit and the 14th ranked player in the country.

3.) Brenton Cox, SDE, 5 Stars - Ohio State
His upside is outstanding with his long, athletic frame who relies heavily on his natural ability. If he can improve his technique at the college level he could end up being one of the best defensive players in the country. Cox is the second best strongside defensive end recruit and the 20th overall player in the country.

4.) Jaelen Gill, APB, 5 Stars - Ohio State 
A lean running back who has the skill set to play out of the slot which compliments his breakaway speed. That breakaway speed and agility  make him a tough guy to corral in the open field. He is the top all-purpose back recruit and the 23rd best overall player in the country.

5.) Emory Jones, DUAL - 5 Stars - Ohio State
A physically gifted quarterback who can hurt defenses with his running ability but can throw from the pocket. His deep ball and running ability is a major reason he is the third-ranked dual-threat quarterback and the 27th best player in the country. 

6.) Jeremy Ruckert, TE, 5 Stars - Ohio State 
He is a Scout 100 prospect which means there is a ton of upside with him. He stands at 6-5, 238 pounds with great speed and ability to block. He is ranked as the 28th best player in the country and the number one tight end recruit.

7.) Jaiden Woodbey, S, 4 stars - Ohio State 
Woodbey is larger than your average safety and may switch to linebacker in college. The versatility that he provides for a defense makes him an easy fit in just about any scheme. He is the 29th ranked player in the country and the second-best safety recruit.

8.) Ricky Slade, APB, 4 Stars - Penn State 
Slade has a high football IQ, which makes him extremely dangerous with the football considering his excellent speed and quickness. A smaller all-purpose back standing at 5-9 and weighing 185 pounds but his 4.4 speed is what has Penn State ecstatic. He is the 35th rated player in the country and the second-best all-purpose back recruit.

9.) Matthew Jones, OG, 4 Stars - Ohio State 
Standing at 6-4 and weighing in at 285 pounds, combined with his foot quickness and strength are the big reasons he is the third rated offensive guard in the country. Once he engages with a defender, just sit back and watch this kid dominate. He is the 45th ranked player in the country and will be a building block to the Buckeyes offensive line.

10.) Teradja Mitchell, ILB, 4 Stars - Ohio State 
A smart player with a ton of football instinct, his ability to read an offense quickly and get after the ball is a big reason he is the 51st ranked player in the country. A gifted athlete who needs to put on some size, he could be one of the best linebackers in all of college football. He is rated the second-best inside linebacker recruit coming into 2018.
