Wisconsin's signing day low on drama, high on optimism

MADISON, Wis. -- Lou Holtz didn't show up to dab on stage. There was no uncommitted five-star recruit pledging his loyalty to Wisconsin in a last-minute signing day ceremony aired on ESPN. No fax machine hiccup occurred, nor did a mysterious disappearance of a National Letter of Intent from a recruit reneging on his Badgers commitment.

Wisconsin's national signing day came and went without the slightest hint of theatrics. Like the program itself, there was nothing flashy about the manner in which Wisconsin inked all 25 of its scholarship freshmen in the Class of 2016. Every player followed through by late morning, and that fact was perhaps the most important takeaway on a day that demonstrated that Badgers coach Paul Chryst continues to steer the program in the right direction.
