MADISON, Wis. -- Before the team buses had pulled out of Lucas Oil Stadium early Sunday morning, Wisconsin safety Leo Musso uneasily powered on his iPad to replay the Badgers' defensive snaps. He wanted to know how everything fell apart on a nightmarish night in which his team had blown a three-touchdown lead in the Big Ten championship game. And perhaps a part of him wanted to verify that what happened was actually real.
What Musso saw was a defense that couldn't put Penn State in enough difficult third-down situations and was constantly playing on its heels.
