COLUMBUS, Ohio -- There was no captaincy awarded to J.T. Barrett at this time a year ago.
The Ohio State quarterback wasn’t a starter then. He wasn't even healthy enough to compete as preparations for spring football kicked off in February.
Across the board, the changes compared to this time one year ago are hard to miss for the redshirt junior, as gears up for his role as the unquestioned leader of the Buckeyes.
“It’s definitely going in the right direction,” Barrett said Wednesday. “I think last year with the quarterback controversy thing, trying to get healthy, then when I got healthy I just wasn’t where I was at as far as football and where I wanted to play, definitely in camp and at the beginning of the year.
