COLUMBUS, Ohio -- J.T. Barrett won’t be getting the couple extra inches he might want, so instead the Ohio State quarterback is just going to take a couple feet.
After cracking a couple jokes about being a bit shorter than the prototype at his position after practice on Thursday morning, Barrett went through his checklist of improvements he’s trying to make in part to account for his size -- starting with taking a deeper drop in the pocket.
“I’m not the tallest,” Barrett, listed variously by Ohio State at 6-foot-1 or 6-2, said. “So I have to make sure I can get back and let the offensive line do their job and still be able to deliver the ball with some space.
