IOWA CITY, Iowa -- When the game clock struck zero inside Kinnick Stadium on Saturday night, a sea of black-and-gold-clad Iowa fans engulfed every square inch of playing surface, the tonic of stunned jubilation and pride warming thousands of field-storming souls through the cold. They hugged, high-fived and clogged cell phone towers while reveling in a monumental upset that would be remembered in these parts for years to come.
But in a small nook underneath the stadium, the mood was decidedly less euphoric. Iowa's 14-13 last-second victory over No. 3 Michigan had burst the Wolverines' undefeated bubble and proved they were not the impenetrable force some believed.
