The Michigan Wolverines stunned observers Friday when they upset the top-seeded Purdue Boilermakers at the 2017 Big Ten tournament, and they hoped to extend their magical run on Saturday.
However, the Maize and Blue had to contend with the upstart Minnesota Golden Gophers if they wanted to compete in the conference title game on Sunday at Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.
In late-afternoon action, the second-seeded Wisconsin Badgers will hope to avoid another loss at the hands of the Northwestern Wildcats with a chance to improve their standing in the eyes of the NCAA tournament selection committee.
