Nick Gates, Nebraska's best offensive lineman, grew up in Las Vegas and didn't know a whole lot about the Cornhuskers' traditions.
During his recruitment and subsequent arrival on campus, he found out the legacy he was inheriting with his position group. It's hard to not get immersed in the storied history of Nebraska offensive linemen. Their portraits fill the hallways. Their jersey numbers line Memorial Stadium. In many ways, they're the stars of the program.
"I love it," Gates said. "At most other schools, it's not like that. Back in the day, those were definitely the guys to be around here.
