B1G awards tracker: Malik Hooker remains clear choice for top defender

Consensus continues to escape our Big Ten voters this week on the most lethal offensive weapon in the conference as we head into the final stretch of November. Just as they did a week ago, Penn State’s Saquon Barkley, Northwestern’s Austin Carr and Ohio State’s J.T. Barrett all received first-place votes.

There was less debate about the top dog on defense. Buckeyes safety Malik Hooker was a unanimous winner in that category. After him, the door is still wide open for a hefty handful of players to make their case to climb up the rankings.
