Sophomore center Yankuba Sima is transferring from St. John’s, the school announced Friday afternoon.
Sima started 17 games as a freshman in the 2015-16 season, averaging 7.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game.
Sima started eight of 10 games this year for the Red Storm, and made appearances in all ten. His best performance came in the Red Storm’s Battle 4 Atlantis loss to Michigan State in which he had 12 points and seven rebounds.
Sima’s departure leaves the Red Storm in a relatively okay spot, given Tariq Owens strong play of late.
