NEW YORK – Xavier’s Joe Gellenbeck was named BIG EAST Player of the Week, while St. John’s sophomore starter Sean Mooney earned BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week accolades.

Grad student Joe Gellenbeck hit .625 (10-for-16) during a 3-1 week for Xavier with a 1.062 slugging percentage. He led the team with four runs scored, three doubles, two triples and 17 total bases. He also walked twice to post a .667 on-base percentage. He collected hits in all four games for Xavier last week.
