NEW YORK – Xavier has swept the BIG EAST men's basketball weekly honors with Trevon Bluiett being named BIG EAST Player of the Week and Edmond Sumner being named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. Both players helped the Musketeers to wins over No. 23/20 Providence and at Georgetown last week.

Bluiett averaged 18.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in victories over No. 23/20 Providence and at Georgetown. He scored a game-high 23 points and pulled down six rebounds in an 85-74 win against Providence and followed that with 13 points and five rebounds in an 88-70 victory at Georgetown.
