NEW YORK – Xavier guard Trevon Bluiett and Creighton guard Ty-Shon Alexander have earned the conference’s weekly men’s basketball awards. Bluiett, a unanimous Preseason All-BIG EAST First Team pick, has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week. Alexander has been chosen BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. Both players helped their teams to impressive road victories.

Trevon Bluiett, Xavier, G, Sr. – Bluiett averaged 25.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in a 2-0 week that included an 80-70 win at Wisconsin. In the victory over the Badgers, Bluiett scored 21 of his 25 points the second half and had 12 points in the final 2:25.
