CALLAWASSIE ISLAND, S.C. – Xavier has a three-stroke lead after the first day of competition at the 2016 BIG EAST Women's Golf Championship Presented by the Jeep Brand. The Musketeers have a team score of 313. Georgetown is three strokes back in second place at 316 followed closely by Seton Hall in third at 318 and Butler in fourth at 319. St. John's is fifth at 331 and Creighton is sixth at 340.
Individually, Xavier senior Shane Crutchfield and Georgetown's Mackenzie Boydston, both seniors, share the lead at two-over-par 74 that came on a sunny, but windy day at Callawassie Island.
