The Xavier coach exceeded expectations at the program and is now getting recognition for it.
On Tuesday, CBS Sports announced their All-American team and Coach of the Year. While the Big East may have not gotten any first team All-American selections, their presence was still felt, as CBS Sports announced its Coach of the Year award winner would be Xavier Musketeers' head coach Chris Mack.
The Xavier Musketeers came into this season unranked as many wondered how they would do in their third year in the Big East. The Musketeers had a relatively new squad with them, as Mack had to work around losing talented center Matt Stainbrook and guard Dee Davis.
