When Jay Wright’s No. 3 Villanova Wildcats are making shots, they become nearly impossible to beat.
Such was the case on Friday as the ‘Cats shot 34-59 (57.6%) from the field and 16-31 (51.6%) from deep to blow past Danny Manning’s Wake Forest squad, 96-77 in the semifinals of the Gildan Charleston Classic.
Senior Josh Hart led the way for Villanova, as he is wont to do. Hart finished the game with a career-high 30 points for the ‘Cats, 20 of which came in the first half. Mikal Bridges (19), Kris Jenkins (16), Donte DiVincenzo (12) and Jalen Brunson (11) also finished in double figures for Wright’s squad.
