On Saturday afternoon, the Georgetown Hoyas and Villanova Wildcats played a basketball game at the Wells Fargo Center.
It was on TV and everything.
Unfortunately, since Villanova already locked up second-place in the Big East thanks to Xavier’s win over DePaul, and Georgetown locked up eighth-place when St. John’s fell to Providence, this game was just kind of... there. Villanova picked up a 97-72
Don’t get me wrong. It had its moments. Mikal Bridges leading all Wildcats and celebrating his appearance on the Wooden Award top 15 with 24 points in what was likely his final regular-season collegiate game, Villanova racking up their eighth straight victory over the Hoyas, and Jalen Brunson celebrating his appearance on the Wooden Award top 15 with a stout 16 point, seven assist day, and Jessie Govan showing why he’s likely the best big man in the Big East with a career-high 30-point showing.
