SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior Charlotte Veitner made history in UConn field hockey’s 5-0 thumping of Boston College in the NCAA first round on Saturday, as she became the all-time points leader in program history.
The Huskies (21-1) used Veitner’s two assists, as well as two goals by sophomore Amanda Collins, to dominate the No. 11 Eagles at Coyne Stadium. With two points, Veitner now has 214 career points – one more than former record holder, Lauren Henderson.
Four different players tallied goals for the Huskies, as they defeated Boston College for the third time in the past four NCAA Tournaments.
