MASON, Ohio – Top seed Connecticut rallied from a 5-4 loss in game six with a 10-6 victory over No. 4 seed Xavier in game seven to win the Huskies fourth tournament title. It was the second time in three years at Prasco Park that the BIG EAST Championship Presented by JEEP went to the if-necessary game seven.
With the win, UConn receives the Conference’s automatic berth to the NCAA Championship. The NCAA bracket announcement starts 12 p.m. ET on Monday, May 31. The selection show will be on ESPN2.
It is the fourth BIG EAST Championship title for the Huskies, who also won it in 2013, 1994 and 1990.
