The UConn Huskies were winners in D.C. on Tuesday night.
Playing their first game in the Nation’s Capital since 2013, UConn defeated Georgetown 70-59 to move to 11-6 on the year. The win was their eighth in Big East play, propping them up to 8-6 in conference action.
The game started off about as slowly as you could possibly go. After 20 minutes of action, Georgetown took a mere 26-25 lead into the break. The Hoyas shot 25.9 percent from the field and 27.3 percent from 3. Countering that, UConn shot 45.5 percent from the floor, but bricked on all five of their 3-point attempts.
