After weeks of the Big East having just one representative in the AP Poll, the conference graduated to two members in this week’s iteration.
The Marquette Golden Eagles remain in the poll despite a loss to St. John’s to open conference play. Marquette bounced back with a 72-60 victory over Xavier over the weekend and find themselves ranked #21 this week, down five spots from their previous spot of 16.
Speaking of St. John’s, they’ve finally made it to the poll thanks largely to that win over Marquette. The 14-1 Red Storm check in at #24 in the poll this week after the victory against the Golden Eagles and then an improbable win against Georgetown at Capital One Arena this past Saturday.
