St. John’s rookie Jack Shearer scored two goals in the Red Storm’s 3-0 league win over rv/No. 19 Xavier on Saturday. Shearer scored in the ninth and the 25th minutes to help St. John’s take a 2-0 lead in the first half. The only other player to score two goals this year on Xavier was Boston College’s Simon Enstrom. Three goals were the most an opponent has scored against Xavier this season. The 3-0 victory ended Xavier’s seven-game unbeaten streak and handed the Musketeers their first loss since Aug.
