The Villanova Wildcats opened their 2017 Big East Tournament stint with a bang on Thursday afternoon, defeating the St. John’s Red Storm, 108-67. This marks the first time in school history that Villanova reached triple-digits in a Big East Tournament game, with its previous high being 96 against Pittsburgh in 1997, a game which went to double overtime.
Donte DiVincenzo led the way with 25 points for the victorious Wildcats while Kris Jenkins chipped in 24. DiVincenzo and Jenkins were hot from outside the arc, going a combined 10-19 (Each player made five).
