The Georgetown Hoyas have never opened Big East play 0-5. That still holds true, as the Hoyas picked up an 85-55 victory over the St. John’s Red Storm Monday night at the Verizon Center.
Georgetown was led by LJ Peak, who had 16. He was one of four Hoyas in double figures, joined by Rodney Pryor (13), Jagan Mosely (13) and Marcus Derrickson (11).
For the Red Storm, the story was the same as usual. Shamorie Ponds led with 12, Marcus LoVett and Bashir Ahmed added 10 each, and the rest of the supporting cast struggled.
