Coming off disappointing results against Butler and Seton Hall, the Georgetown Hoyas entered Monday night's contest with the St. John's Red storm riding a three-game losing streak. At 13-11 and 6-5 in the BIG EAST, the Hoyas needed a victory in the worst of ways to get off the schneid with a matchup against Providence looming later in the week.
To their delight, that's exactly what would transpire. Led by the play of Isaac Copeland and L.J. Peak, Georgetown got back in the win column with a 92-67 victory over rival St. John's in Washington D.C. The Hoyas opened up a big lead at the onset of the game and never looked back, never relinquishing the lead for the entirety of the contest.
