NEW YORK – St. John’s guard Shamorie Ponds has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week and Providence guard A.J. Reeves has been tabbed BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. Ponds led the Red Storm to the Legends Classic title and Reeves continued his strong offensive contributions in a win against Iona.
BIG EAST teams captured four titles in seven Thanksgiving week tournaments. On Sunday, Seton Hall won the Wooden Legacy and Villanova captured the AdvoCare Invitational. Earlier in the week, Creighton won the Cayman Islands Classic and St. John’s took the Legends Classic.
