NEW YORK – St. John’s junior guard Mustapha Heron has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week and Villanova freshman forward Saddiq Bey has been chosen BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. Heron helped the Johnnies to a 2-0 week, which included a win against Villanova. Bey’s Wildcats were 1-1 for the week.

Mustapha Heron, St. John’s, G, Jr. – In a 2-0 week that included a come-from-behind 71-65 win over 13th-ranked Villanova, Heron averaged 23.5 points and 4.5 rebounds. He scored 14 of his 19 points during the second-half rally against Villanova.
