TUCSON, Ariz. – The 2016 Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American team, selected by Collegiate Baseball newspaper, was announced on Wednesday and among the nation’s elite freshmen were St. John’s Josh Shaw and Seton Hall’s Cullen Dana.
Shaw, the 2016 BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, is one of just three Red Storm players to start all 55 games. He batted .297 and finished the season ranked tied for second in the league with 42 RBI and ranked tied for sixth with 68 hits. The second baseman had 10 doubles, two home runs and 35 runs scored, while adding seven stolen bases in nine attempts.
