CALLAWASSIE ISLAND, S.C. – Seton Hall became the first team in BIG EAST history to win three consecutive women's golf titles, capturing the 2016 BIG EAST Women's Golf Championship by 12 strokes over runner-up Georgetown at Callawassie Island Golf Club.
As the BIG EAST champion, Seton Hall earns the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
The Pirates finished the 54-hole tournament with a team score of 935 (+71). The Hoyas, who have been the runner-up to Seton Hall for all three years, finished at 947 (+83). Georgetown rallied to take the lead briefly early in the final round before the Pirates bounced back under sunny, but windy conditions at Callawassie.
