EAST MEADOW, N.Y. - After the first day of competition at the 2017 BIG EAST Swimming & Diving Championships presented by Jeep, Seton Hall leads the men's team rankings with 101 points, while Villanova paces the women's rankings with 80 points.
The evening finals began with the 800 free relay, where the Villanova women scored their fourth straight title and the Pirates took gold for the men. In Wildcat tradition, Villanova took the women’s race comfortably in 7:11.35, over 15 seconds in front of Seton Hall’s second place time of 7:26.72. On the men’s side, it was the exact opposite as Georgetown, Seton Hall and Villanova kept the competition close for the entire event.
