Rollie Lacy returns to form; Creighton routs Winthrop 7-1

There are times in a man’s life when he sucks really bad at that thing he’s good at, making everyone question whether or not he’s actually any good at that thing, only to perform the thing at his expected level again to make every observer nod their head and understand the difficulty of maintaining a high level of consistency within athletic competition throughout a long period of time.

With that said, Rollie Lacy was on fire tonight. He commanded the strike zone with authority, getting nearly every hitter he faced off balance and in a tough situation. He faced some trouble in the first inning, allowing a single to the first batter he faced, then letting that batter get to second after throwing wide on a pickoff move.
