Get excited, college basketball fans. For the first time ever, the Villanova Wildcats and Gonzaga Bulldogs will do battle next year at historic Madison Square Garden as part of the 2017 Jimmy V Classic.
The news of this encounter between two of the top programs in the sport comes to us from CBS Sports/FanRag Sports college basketball insider Jon Rothstein who reported the news on late Thursday morning.
Syracuse will face UConn and Villanova will play Gonzaga in the 2017 Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden, per multiple sources.

In addition to ‘Nova and Gonzaga’s tilt, as you can see, old memories will likely be awoken as two teams who are very familiar with the confines of The Garden will do battle as well.
