Two weeks ago, making the NCAA Tournament seemed virtually impossible for the Providence Friars. Following their 73-64 victory over the DePaul Blue Demons on Tuesday night though, Ed Cooley’s team finds themselves with control of their own destiny and sitting in a position that would place them in the Big Dance.
This is all great and exciting, but let’s get one thing straight: tonight was Casey Woodring’s night. The lone Providence senior from Darien, Connecticut celebrated his final game at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center Tuesday night. Students donned t-shirts with his enlarged team headshot on them too!
