On Wednesday, the Providence Friars became the latest school to offer 2020 point guard Andre Curbelo.
Curbelo, a 6-foot-1 standout from New York powerhouse Long Island Lutheran, has played a key role in upholding the school’s successful basketball tradition. Most recently, he and Crusaders won a New York state-record eight federational titles, after winning the New York State Class AA Federation Championship in lopsided fashion last Saturday.
Curbelo was named the game’s Most Valuable Player after dropping a game-high 23 points.
He is a traditional type of point guard, one that looks to pass-first and set up his teammates.
