MASON, Ohio – The Creighton Bluejays won their first BIG EAST Baseball Tournament title, 9-8, over Xavier on Saturday night at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio. Creighton was the top seed coming into the tournament and became just the third BIG EAST team to win the championship since 2014.
Creighton short stop Jack Strunc earned the Jack Kaiser award for the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. Strunc led all batters during the tournament with a .643 batting average, scoring five runs on nine hits with four RBI. In the field, Strunc had no errors, assisted on four outs and put out two.
